WEDDING SUPPLIER: PIHO PRODUCTIONS

Saturday, June 22, 2013

J and I initially have decided we don't want our wedding to be held in a hotel. In search for that 'non-hotel' wedding venue, we found the previously known as Wilfredo's Garden now reintroduced as Sheridan Boutique Resort to be the place for our wedding reception. Then the next step was to look for an event stylist to decorate the reception venue. J's supervisor has friends who does events planning and we decided to give it a try. We met up with these cool people who are behind Piho Productions. I gave them pictures of my inspirations for the wedding reception: a lamps, the couples nook and floating lanterns. Ice, the only lady of this talented trio, totally get me by saying, "Ah, shabby chic!" Yeah! That is totally want I was going for. From there, they bounce back with cool original ideas all on their own. I find creativity, personalised touches and simplicity better than expensive flowers, over-the-top lightings and breakable chandeliers.  It was fun working with them. They understand their clients and they also empathic & adjust to the clients' budget. Not only are these guys original and cool, they are also very professional and organised. Some wedding suppliers or business people should learn from these guys in how to deal with clients because they convey to their client clearly from their plans, execution and provide itemized details of materials & prices. The clients in turn will appreciate this so much.

During the wedding day, the set was just what we wanted: laid-back, quirky & so shabby-chic!

Outside the pavilion, a take-you-own-picture photo booth was set up with a big picture frame with strings of pictures of J & me hanging on it. It was my own  pink camera & tripod that was set up on the nook. The guest can take their own pictures using the self-timer with their messages on chalkboards provided. It is like our own remembrance from our guests.

Inside the reception area, there is a candy/chocolate corner, an open-bar that serves only green or blue cocktails arranged by my brother Ras and a yummy buffet catered by Mr. Wilson Esperancilla.

Piho Productions decorated the pavilion inside just as pretty as the outside. So many artsy crafts for guests to entertain themselves, pretty chalk board table numbers, large paper lanterns on the ceiling and hanging tea candles on the large tree.

Guests gets to write down messages for us and hang it on the twigs on their tables. As you could see, our friends got some weird sense of humor but we get it, hehe....

Thank you Piho Productions! You guys are awesome! Next time naman? Maybe for our baby's baptismal party? :) Best of luck!

WEDDING SUPPLIERS: WES COORDINATORS

Monday, June 17, 2013

I know I have picked a very stressful job. Being a doctor is not easy, not until I discovered another job that is equally, if not more stressful than my job: being a wedding coordinator. The thought of being a wedding coordinator seems like a cute job: you picture J.Lo in the movie, "The Wedding Planner' and you say I got this in the bag. But it is not as easy as it looks. Believe me, i saw with my own two eyes how hard it is to be wedding coordinators. I realized what a blessing it is for the bride and groom to have their own experienced wedding coordinators than just their own very efficient relative to take care of the details. If I would give a gift to the a friend of my mine who will be getting married, I would give her wedding coordinators. It will make hers and her fiance's life way easier. There as so many last minutes details before the wedding that anyone can miss out and your wedding coordinators can point out to you or remind you. Wedding coordinators  absorbs the stress  of the bride and groom. If I were a wedding coordinator and doing 5 weddings a month, I will be nervous wreck. I don't know how they able to do it. I am amazed.

I met Sheryl, our wedding coordinator, before through a mutual friend in a party. We hit it off instantly and when J and I started preparing, she was the first one who came to mind. I guess things really happen for a reason. Wedding & Events Specialists or simply WES Coordinators are team heading by She and Jocelyn. Don't let these baby faces fool you because this group know what they are doing. J and I booked them to be our wedding coordinators a year before our wedding. We got the on-the-day coordination package. They are very experienced and has coordinated & planned many successful weddings. They also do wedding & events planning as far as here in Singapore. They are efficient, organised and very knowledgeable about weddings. They thought us about symbolisms in the  wedding ceremony and reception program. They thought me to put my bouquet in front my (excuse me for staying this, haha) crotch. They say, "Flower over flower", haha, because it will look got in photos. Even our photographer said the same thing, haha. I guess, its a wedding lingo. Now I know, hehe. Our wedding started right on time and everything went smoothly. Our guests complimented how smooth and non-chaotic the flow of the wedding. They didn't realize how much work our coordinators did to keep it that way. WES Coordinators also wear such lovely uniforms. It shows how professional and serious they are with their jobs. They are polite, never bossy and always have their clients best interest. They want their client to be smiling and wrinkle-free on their special day, just as it suppose to be. They also provided us with an excellent host, a popular radio jockey who kept our reception  program lively and fun.

To Sheryl and Jocelyn and their team, thank you so much for taking good care of us. We got a drama-free, stress-free wedding that we want. WES Coordinators rock!
