PRODUCT REVIEW: BURT BEES TINTED LIP BALM

Thursday, November 10, 2011

When I visit Manila, I always take the opportunity to replenish my cosmetic products that is not available here in Iloilo. (Calling Rustans, Beauty Bar and Landmark! Come to Iloilo City na!) Usually I buy my trusty Cinema Secrets concealer and my Bloom liptint in Plum.

So my sister and I headed to the nearest Beauty Bar. Much to my dismay, my Bloom liptint in Plum was out of stock! Waaaa! I was about to leave Beauty Bar a bit brokenhearted when I saw on the Burt Bees section -- a new product. Hmmmmm.......

Burt Bees products are known to be earth friendly, manufacturing their products with natural ingredients like honey and beeswax. They are best known for their lip balms. Now, they have a new product, the BURT BEES TINTED LIP BALM. This is available in 6 sheer shades: Hibiscus, Honeysuckle, Tiger Lily, Pink  Blossom and Rose. They  moisturize and nourish lips with waxes, shea butter and added vitamin E.

After several testing of the lip balm on my lips and on my sister's lips, I was convinced to get one in exchange for my not-available Bloom liptint. I picked the color: Red Dahlia. It is not actually red. It reminds me more of Clinique Almost Lipstick in Black Honey. It indeed keeps your lips moisturize and soft. I also like its light sweet scent unlike other heavy lip balms. However, it could look quite light and too sheer. It is perfect for everyday use or when you go on errands. But if you want to glam up a bit, you can add your choice of lipstick and Burt Bees tinted lip balm on top. I sometimes use Revlon Lip Stain in Beloved with it.

Blush: Maybelline Pure Blush Minerals in Rose

  1. Indeed great for casual days. I love the fact that the tint is barely-there. ~ acne treatment New York City
