DIVINE CAKES

It's a National Holiday! No work! Yey!

I always get  a call from my boyfie every morning when he wakes up. This morning, when we were having our regular early morning chat, he suddenly told me that he is craving for something sweet today like big fat slice of cake, hehe. I said, "Perfect! I always wanted to try this little pastry shop I saw near Iloilo Doctors' Hospital.  We can go there!". So we decided to cure that sweet tooth after I am through with my scientific conference luncheon in a hotel and we went to this pastry shop called, DIVINE CAKES...

It is just a small space with different cakes to choose from. They have a second floor but unfortunately they weren't able to open the aircon yet so we didn't to stay downstairs. We were the only customers that time.

I ordered the Red Velvet Cake P69

I have always wanted to try a cake or cupcake with a red velvet ingredient. It was okay. The white cream was a good combination with the red velvet. The good thing is that it isn't too sweet.  However, after having 3 spoonfuls of this cake, your tongue gets easily bored at its generic taste.


My boyfie ordered a blueberry cheesecake P69

This was a very safe and better choice. It also, like the Red Velvet Cake, not tooth-achingly sweet. The crust below is the most appealing part of the cake in terms of the taste. The blueberry toppings isn't overpowering until some blueberry cheesecake. My boyfie polished it off in less than two minutes, hehe...

Divine Cakes also has cupcakes, pies and tarts. They also make wedding cakes. Cake, especially chocolate cake, are my favorite comfort food. But if I were to choose I would still opt for Calea Pastries or Dulgies Cakes. But still, Divine Cakes are worth a try... My tastebuds obviously differ from yours...
