BETTER LATE THAN NEVER: MY NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTION

It is still January so basically it's still New Year for me and you. I have been extremely lazy for the first few weeks of the new year because I wasn't motivated enough. But time for slacking is all over and I decided to make a couple of New Year's resolutions to motivate myself. We all need  a little push into the right direction, the right inspirations. So I log into Zalora, my favourite online shopping store, a place where I can find lots of things to inspire & motivate me.

MY NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTIONS:

1. BE MORE POSITIVE 

My mother taught me that the secret to a successful life is to always be positive whatever challenges are thrown at you. This 2013, I will do just that. And to energise that kind of positive aura, it is best to use the color of the year: Pantone Green. Pantone Green is also describe as a color of elegance and enhances our sense of well-being & balance. And I am all for that.

I found this beautiful green peplum dress that is a statement piece that would inspire me to be more positive and balance for this year.

2. HIT THE GYM MORE OFTEN

I signed up for gym membership before the start of the year because I need to  look my best on my wedding (which is a few months away). But sometimes laziness can take over when it comes to working out. However, with this cool colorful sneaker, I would be excited to hit the gym more often.

3. BE MORE CONFIDENT

Nothing is more attractive than a woman who is confident. It is a trait we all want to embody. We need to believe more on ourselves and our abilities. Nothing spells of confidence than a bright red lips. Just that-- nude face and red lips, reminds me of our very own, Anne Curtis.

4. BE MORE ADVENTUROUS

Life is all about discoveries. I need to explore more and discover more fun & cool places to go too. I love discovering quaint cafes, that is my thing and if I  can find a funky bookstore too that would be a plus. So instead of just watching reruns of tv shows in youtube on weekends, I should go out and have some fresh air & sunshine more often. I should grab my flip-flops and do some walking in a chance to find some cute cafes, nice foodie place or whatever I might bump into. I prefer to be comfy as just like Dora-The-Explorer, hehe, so a cute shorts would be a perfect match with my flipflop. I don't plan to wear heels when I am in my explorer mode (no way!).

5. SLEEP EARLY

After my scary bout of acne breakouts a month ago, I decided to take good care of my skin and sleep is one factor that can help me with that. Nothing beats a good rest. At least 8 hours of sleep would do wonders for the skin. I have  a bad habit of sleep too late but not with this sexy and sleep-inticing sleepwear. I would be excited to sleep early if I'm sleeping wearing this.

FASHION FORWARD: PEPLUM SKIRTS

Looking for fashion inspiration, I checked out one of my favorite style icon, Apple Aberin's ootd (outfit-of-the-day) posts in her instagram. She has been wearing quite a lot of peplum skirt which tweaked my fancy. I like the idea of a office skirt designed in an unconventional way.

Since shopping in malls stresses me out, I logged on to one of my favourite online shopping sites, ZALORA to check out some peplum skirts.

MY ZALORA WISHLIST

This is a confession of a non-shopaholic....

I might look girly-girl but I despise shopping. Don't get me wrong, I love clothes, I love fashion but I am not very keen with going in and out of boutiques looking for that perfect dress. My wobbly short legs tire so easily. I have a men's mentality when it comes to shopping. I am looking for jeans? I would grab the first nice-looking jeans, try it on and if it fits, I go straight at the cashier. When my shopping-experts friends would invite me in their window-shopping excursion, after two or three shops, my head gets dizzy and I would console myself on a seat nearby as they continue inspect each and every item. I hate to admit it but my fiance is a better shopper than me, haha! Recently, I realized I need to shop for some new wardrobes. How much does a personal shopper charge? Uhm, I know I probably couldn't afford it. You see, this week, I will be quite busy and is in desperate need to add new clothes to my anorexic closet. So many things lined up this week. It's my first day in my new clinic, a movie date with my fiance, a coffee date with my friends and in the weekend, I will spend it at a Bacolod resort with my fiance's family.... Help!

Fortunately for me, I discovered Zalora. Ahhh, the wonderful discovery of online shopping. Why walk in and out of boutiques when your fingertips can do the shopping over the internet? Hehe... This little black dress with beige trimming is the perfect dress for me to wear in my first day in my new clinic. I already got appointments, yea! And isn't it great to start my practice with style... This is just the way to do it. It exude the right combination of classy and stylish.

2. BAYO SLEEVELESS COTTON DRESS

My fiance and I have our regular movie date every week. He is taking me to watch THE AVENGERS! I am so excited. I want to wear something comfortable just like this pretty cotton dress. I would wear it with a cute wedge shoes and I would definitely bring a cardigan just in case, the theater gets too cold.

 3. ENSEMBLES SHIRT

 Isn't the blouse look so gorgeous and unique? The white piece of cloth on the yellow shirt looks like a cool deconstructed tie. Coolness! This is just the blouse I would love to wear on my coffee date with my girlfriends. The great thing about this top is that it can be perfect for a work-shirt, using a red skirt like in the picture above or maybe  a blue skirt or black slacks. And when I would meet the girls, I can always change the bottom with a cute shorts and kicking off my heels with some flats. My friends would love this blouse and I am sure it will be such a hit.


4. FOLDED AND HUNG WOVEN SHORTS

For a relaxing weekend with my fiance's family, this is just the one for me to be paired with a plain wife-beater shirt and flip flops. I love the mustard color of this shorts. Very summer! I am sure my fiance would be delighted to see me in this because he loves it when I wear shorts, hehe....

5. SALSA TRENDS TWO-PIECE BIKINI

With the scorching summer heat, I will definitely head to the pool in the resort we are going to this weekend. I find this beaded navy-inspired, blue & white striped bikini so adorable. I like! I like!

Gosh, I had so much fun shopping online at Zalora! Another great thing about Zalora is they deliver at your door within 1-2 days. And if you're lucky, some of the items you like could be on sale! Wohoo! Hmmm.... I am not quite done with my online shopping, I realized I need to shop for shoes and some accessories to match my outfit. Opps! I think this non-shopaholic converting into a true-blue shopaholic... Hahaha! Zalora is a great place for non-shopaholic and shopaholic alike. Happy shopping! ♥

BUBBLES ACCESSORIES: Feather Earrings

I am not much of a clothes shopper. I am too "kuripot" to splurge on clothes, haha. I rely on hand-me-downs from my baby bro's clothes when he was 5 until  16, my mom's cool clothes when she was in her 20's, my cousin's office clothes & my aunties' skirt which I turn into tops. I adore vintage!!! But to update my look, I rely on unique and funky accessories. It's all about the accessories for me!!! This time, I am so into feather earrings! Inspired by Aria in Pretty Little Liars.

Me and my sis has been searching hi and lo for feather earrings. Good thing, I have been following the always-radiant and gorgeous fashion blogger Vern Encisco and I saw she has been wearing really cool feather earrings & necklaces. She has been talking about Bubbles accessories that she gets all the way from Iloilo. What a minute?! I am from Iloilo! I need to get a hold of those beautiful accessories.....

I click on the links to Bubbles Accessories  and instantly got a hold of Tati, the owner & designer of Bubbles Accessories. Since we both are in Iloilo, no need to send it through courier, we just decided to meet at the next day.


The minute I saw Tati approached me. I fell in love with her all ensemble. She looked so adorable. And she was wearing a red & white feather earrings! I have to bite my tongue and stop myself from asking her if I can buy that too, for the risk  of sounding too dorky, rude and shameless, hehe....

We gotten to chat for a bit. This amazing woman is  not only an entrepreneur and  designer of Bubbles Accessories, she is also a blogger, a wife and a mom. Her accessories business venture which she handles with her hubby is quite new but it is already very popular and often mentioned in the blogosphere. Aside from Miss Encisco, fashion bloggers like Laureen Uy, Ava Te, Dianne Dequina, Camille Co and many others have been wearing her accessories. Wow! Ilonggo pride swirling right there. I am sure more people would love to wear Bubbles because it is definitely eye-catching, unique and playful. Also most item cost a little over 100pesos only. Isn't that great? 


I bought two one-sided feather earrings from Tati and she told me she also has more of her stuff in Pomelo Boutique (in SM City) & in Atrium.  And that tip gave me enough reason to hoard some more cutesy earrings at Pomelo.haha!
