I told you recently about my plans to go flexi/vegetarian (more veggies, less) after reading a book by Dr. D' Adamo. At times, I would cheat on my attempt to vegetarianism and go back to my carnivorousness ways. But I am definitely trying my best to go back in track especially since I feel the benefits of eating more veggies and fruits and less meat (maybe just once a week). It is not easy to find vegetarian restaurant here in Iloilo but I am in a look-out.
They offer a lot of variety in their vegetarian dishes. They also serve non-vegetarian meals.
Of course we ordered the vegetarian dishes.
We got a vege burger since that is the name of the restaurant anyway. There are 4 types of vege burgers: celery & soy protein; carrot and cabbage; broccoli & tomato; celery, lettuce & pineapple and banana . We got the carrot and cabbage. You can have add-ons like tomato, lettuce, cheese. I covered the patty with an adequate amount of tomato ketchup.

We also got a half fruit vegetarian pizza. It contains pineapple, papaya, cucumber, tomato and other unidentified veggies & fruits.

This pizza won't make you think it's vegetarian. It seem like a Hawaiian pizza overload. It was good enough, however the cheese could use some work because it seems like they just drizzled grated cheddar cheese on top of the toppings. No mozzarella , no parmesan.
For drinks, they have healthy juices available. We ordered Strawberry Juice with Seaweeds and Celery Juice with Honey
P25 |
I like the Strawberry juice though it is a bit sweet and the seaweeds are actually gulaman/gelatin, so no scary green weeds for you. The Celery Juice was surprisingly good. However, I couldn't really take the strong smell of the celery and I didn't finish the juice.
The place is owned by the Ong Family. The small resto has few decors except for picture displays of the memebers of the Photographic Society of Iloilo. One of the photographers is Dr. Malbar Ferrer, a renowned pulmonologist of Iloilo.
Will I come back again for some veggie meals? Definitely...... For more veggie days together... Eat green, peeps!

Thanks for posting. This is a great option! I am not a vegan, but I am trying to do away with meat. I have been living abroad for quiet sometime and my diet has changed from meat-all day to servings of fruits-and-veggies meals. I go home regularly but readjusting to food has been difficult because of less food variety options especially in fruits. Banana and mangoes are in season so they are the most common and freshest. Other than the two I am often disappointed with fruits that I get from supermarkets because of short shelf life. Having this resto is a good start for the city. I just can't wait to check it out later.
ReplyDeleteI know, we need more health stores and vegetarian restos in our place.... I will be in a look out for restaurants with more healthier choices and will blog about it... Thanks for droppin' by my blog...
