INSPIRATIONAL SUNDAY: CLEANING INSIDE OUT

Monday, February 6, 2012

It decided to blog every Sundays about some realizations, inspirations and musings of mine.... I thought of injecting my unsolicited advice to those willing to listen, hehe...

This week, I got a lot of time on my hands so I get to actually clean my room, really clean it. It's my February project, to redecorate my teeny-weeny room. For the past three years with me being busy in my hospital training work , I would clean my room by just arranging my room making it appear clean and organized. While cleaning my room the other day, I got into the nitty-gritty. I went crawling down my bed to remove all the junk that accumulated. You see, I might have made it appear clean but I neglect to dust, sweep and fix the little nooks & corners. I saw that under my bed, ants started to create their little home and that my treasured letters & memorabilia I store in a box were destroyed by termites. I almost cried! I love those letters....

I realized something that this is a lesson learned. This could apply this to ourselves as a person. We tend to appear "okay" or "organized" or anything that would be "sociably-appealing." But if we bank on what looks good in the surface, appearing strong, confident and pretty but not working on what is inside: the accumulation of negativity, low self-esteem and hate, etc., we will be left to clean up a much bigger mess. We need to do an overhaul, to completely clean ourselves from the inside out. We should take the time to "sharpen the saw" by taking time for meditation, time with God and doing our examination of conscience at night... Because in doing so we won't need to deal with ant hills inside our hearts and destroyed letters of our soul....
