Pre-bday Celebration: Romantic Dinner at Mango Tree

My boyfie and I planned to have a romantic dinner the day before my b-day and dress up a little bit. After several choices, we picked the restaurant: Mango Tree.

Mango Tree has the perfect ambiance. It is a house turned resto with a beautifully landscaped lawn and garden. I'll describe their resto atmosphere as cozy, romantic and classy. There are  beautiful lanterns hanging on the big mango tree.And the speaker booms of songs I like- Norah Jones, John Legend, etc.. Set up a mood for relaxation and romance, naks, hehe.

  

There is some kind of a family gathering or party inside, so we were told that the available tables are the ones outside which is perfectly okay with us. We ordered the Pepper Steak and Sizzling Gambas, garlic rice and iced tea. (I apologized for not taking any pictures of the foods. It was so good we forgot to take pictures of the foods, hehe.

We get to choose how the Pepper Steak will be cooked - rare, medium rare, well-done. We wanted it well done. It was so good and filling! Even if it was well-done, it wasn't dry. It has a right amount of juiciness and it wasn't bloody either. The marinade sips in perfectly in the steak, with just the right amount of sweetness.

The Sizzling Gambas was equally good. The red spicy sauce of the Sizzling Gambas was happily spread on my garlic rice, hehe. The gambas wasn't as fat as I wanted them to be but not too puny either. 

My boyfriend is horrible with surprises. He would blurt it out of excitement or I would eventually guess. But tonight for my birthday, he manage to really surprise me with a wonderful gift.... What is it? hehe... I'll keep it a secret for the time-being, hehe...
