It's the start of ber-months!

Hello September!

This rainy, almost cold (depending in our bipolar weather) season, I usually have my own favorite playlist, movie and book to keep me company.

MY BER-MONTH PLAYLIST:

  • Adele

This surprisingly young crooner's warm voice is a perfect for the cold nights. Her songs like Someone Like You, Chasing Pavements and Make You Feel My Love are my favorites. Her voice is soothing, like a warm chocolate fondue.

India Arie

During the ber season up to Christmas season, it is said that there are increased rate of depression. Then, India Arie might be your perfect drug. This woman radiates positivity and an advocate of woman's rights. Her songs are like a self-help book, abridged version and with perfect melody. I love her songs: Brown Skin, Chocolate High and Video. Her song, A Beautiful Day is my morning prayer song.

Gabrielle

I was introduced to Gabrielle (not personally, haha!) by a friend of mine when we were in highschool, during her "Dreams do come true" phase. She is so cool with her one eye covered. Cool for a cool weather. I love her Out of Reach song.

John Legend

The only boy in the category. This brown gwapito can woo you until you melt like butter. His voice is velvet. His songs has so much soul. His songs also reflect that he might be a lady's man, hehe. I love his songs: P.D.A., Save Room and Where Did My Baby Go

MOVIE OF THE SEASON:

BRIDGET JONES' DIARY

I love the book as with the movie. Cold nights is perfectly matched with neurosis, good laugh and a little bit of Hugh Grant & Colin Firth. Gabrielle's song sets the mood for this movie. My favorite  part which makes this my movie-choice for ber-month season? The part where Bridget (Renee Zellwegger) runs around the streets in her undies and a thin jacket while it was heavily snowing looking for Mr. Darcy (Colin Firth). She cracks me up! LOL!

BOOK OF THE SEASON:

DAVID COPPERFIELD by CHARLES DICKEN

Call me old-fashion but during the cold season, I resort to the classics. The very interesting life journey of David Copperfield (not the magician, guys. haha!) is quite entertaining. From being born posthumously, growing up with her Aunt Betsie and experiencing love several times, his life is enthralling. Considering this is a thick book and with the long holidays, this book is the one... along with a hot coco.... If you have more time, grab Louisa May Alcott's Little Women, too.... hehe...

What are your ber-month favorites? Do share....

I like Adele very much! And Gabrielle reminds me of highschool and college days. For now I became obsessed with finishing Stieg Larson's Millenium Trilogy- The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played with Fire, and The Girl Whp Kicked The Hornet's Nest. I'm on the last one and I can say that Lisbeth Salander is not your typical heroine, a fresh take on your usual beautiful, sexy and goody-two shoes type of girl. I'm hooked!

  2. Wow! I heard of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I believe they made a movie about it. I haven't gotten to read it, though.. Now, after what you told me, I will definitely read Steig Larson's novel and get hooked in Lisbeth Salander's adventures, hehe.
