We have seen it all... All the love stories in the world just seem redundant and plain. It would take a lot of sappy, cheesy lines for us to say, "awww" sigh..... And that's what the book " THE TIME TRAVELER'S WIFE" just did.. I was ecstatic to recieve the book as a gift from my coresident.
As Scott Turow, author of Reversible Error and Presumed Innocent said: " To those who say there are no new love stories, I heartily recommend THE TIME TRAVELER"S WIFE, an enchanting novel, which is beautifully crafted and as dazzingly imaginative as it is dizzingly romantic."
While my sister and I came across the movie Serenpidity as we are channel-surfing, I commented that though the movie is widely entertaining, I never believe in the truthfulness of it. How can you make a big statement that THAT PERSON IS THE ONE after spending a few hours, magical and romantic at that, orchestrated by our bodies' hormones, chemical reactions and the holiday atmosphere. What if after they got together, they realized thier likes & dislikes, life beliefs and mannerisms doesn't mesh well.. Though THE TIME TRAVELER"S WIFE dealt heavily on the fictional & impossible-in-real-life time traveling of the male hero of the story, I believe in it more than Serendipity. Though both have similar themes of 'meant-to-be' & 'the one', THE TIME TRAVELER'S WIFE showed how Clare withstand the uncertainty of having a time-traveling lover and the truimph of unconditional love, understanding, longing and true love. Audrey Niffenegger created a gift to the literary world, a book that would make us think, laugh, cry and sigh.... ""Aww..." Can't wait to see the movie version....
