POST-VALENTINES DESSERT ADVENTURE AT AWFULLY CHOCOLATE

Dear Chocolate Lovers,

How was your Valentines Day?

My friends and I wasn't still done with the whole Valentine fever so the day after Hearts Day, we took a trip East Coast to have a bit of a chocolate-ty treat. Our body needs a little bit of endorphins and that is just what chocolates can offer.

We went to this cute branch of Awfully Chocolate in East Coast to have a pure and unadulterated affair with chocolates. Only chocolates, nothing more.

This branch of Awfully Chocolate has also opened a sort-of a brunch all-day restaurant called NineThirty. The place is very cozy and modern. It has  a lot of brown hues that complements the food that they are serving which are chocolates, of course. There where pretty fresh flowers on the tables which makes a place even more adorable. Entering the place, there is a glass counter showcasing all the chocolate-goodness you would wish for. *Drool *Drool

We decided to order one type of chocolate dessert and we all share it. Because sharing is loving. (Nyahaha! How corny!)

Chocolate Flourless Cake ($6.00)
This is a dark chocolate cake dusted with icing sugar on top. This is the typical chocolate cake, nothing fancy. But I love simple things and I love this. It is crisp outside and moist in the inside just what I like my chocolate cakes and chocolate-chip cookies to be.

Super Stacked Chocolate Cake ($ 6.50 per 100g)
This is another type of chocolate cake. It is like the chocolate version of the rainbow cake. It has six different layers of chocolate fudge.

Kahlua Bar and Dark Chocolate Truffles ($15 per 100g; $13 per 100g)
The larger bar is the Kahlua Bar. Taking one bite of this can definitely make your head spin. Well, of course, duh, it has Kahlua liqueur in it. It can be overpowering. One of my friends love it but I love my Kahlua in a glass rather than in my dessert. The Dark Chocolate Truffle on the other hand is a sweet delight. I have always love my chocolates dark so I totally dig this. It is a soft dark chocolate square dusted by coco powder. These little goodies are sold by weight.

White Chocolate Cupcake ($ 4.90)
Isn't this white calorie-laden cupcake so pretty? It is a soft cupcake with white chocolate milk on top drizzled with dark chocolate fudge.

Rich Dark Chocolate Cupcake ($4.90)
This black beauty is the winner of the best ordered chocolate from our little group. It was the favourite of everyone. It was sinfully delicious.  It has a hard dark-chocolate coating on top and moist chocolate cupcake inside.

Hei Ice Cream ($3.80 per scoop)
This is Awfully Chocolate's popular product. It is a premium dark chocolate ice cream with no other ingredients. If you get it in takeaway, it comes in a cute paper box. How the ice cream doesn't leak out is beyond me.

With a cozy place and the sweet treat they offer, this is a nice place for yuppies, galpals and  couples to hang out. But unfortunately, there is one sulky, pushy and grumpy waitress in this nice chocolate shop. We forgot to get her name, though.  You would assume that a sweet place like this would have also sweet  and pleasing-personality employees. But the good thing is she was the only one because we met another sweet-smiling accommodating waitress that day too. Maybe her role in the chocolate shop is the counteract the sweetness of the chocolate with her sourish personality. Just a theory, hehe...

But even with a little dose of sour dip in Awfully Chocolate, we came out with smiles and chocolate-stained teeth. Endorphins and calories are swimming happily in our veins.

The trip was awfully lot of fun, awfully bad for our waistline, awfully addicting and awfully chocolate-ty-good.....

I hope you will try it too. You'll not regret it.

Love,
A Chocolate Addict

P.S.

Just watch out for that sour waitress
