MILK TEA INVASION IN ILOILO: HELLO MOONLEAF

Milk Tea fever has been infecting Manila for quite some time that lead to several sprouts of Milk Tea businesses everywhere. And now the Milk Tea phenomenon has invaded Iloilo City. A milk tea shop called Moonleaf has recently opened here in Iloilo. Moonleaf offers a wide array of delicious concoctions made from freshly brewed- Taiwan tea leaves. 

One evening, J and I headed out to check out why everyone seems to go ga-ga over milk teas. 

The place was packed and it was really hard for us to look for a good parking spot since the parking space couldn't accomodate that much cars. When we finally got a vacant space for parking, we queued for our milk teas.

We are new to this craze so we were stumped in what we should order. We asked the kind Moonleaf employee what are their bestsellers. She suggested the Wintermelon Milk Tea & the Caramel Milk Tea. being chocolate-lovers that we were, we also got a chocolate cake after seeing them displayed nearby.

Verdict: I love my Wintermelon Milk Tea! It wasn't too sweet, just right enough for my taste. It also doesn't have that strong tea flavor that turns me off. The tea flavor was subtle and the wintermelon was a new & exciting taste for my tastebuds. However, J finds the Wintermelon Milk Tea rather weird for his taste. But he lurves his Caramel Milk Tea, perfect for people who has a sweet tooth. I love it too actually. It's creamy, not-too-sickening-caramelly, just right. I wouldn't mind interchanging ordering both milk teas everytime I go there. The only things is that the cup size is a tad too big for me and even J. We both didn't finish our teas. It was a lot, really. But there is only one size for all. The chocolate cake gets our two-thumbs up too. But I just ate 1/8 of it and I rather skip on the calories that cake has to offer and give it to J, hehe...

J noticed the place are filled with youngsters, as in  pbbteen-young. He feels like we are lolo & lolas trying to be hip, hanging out there, haha... But babe, I got a youthful heart so I don't mind, haha....

They also have this cute wall where you can post some notes. Too bad there were no available pads for us to make our notes too. Look at this one, so cute!
