This coffee-get-together with my friends was been long overdue. After months of cancellation and arranging our busy schedules to synchronize, we finally met up for some caffeine fix and lots of catching up to do.
We went to this coffee shop/library, BOOK LATTE My two great loves in one roof! Bingo! Isn't that a cool concept. A first in Iloilo City.
The place exudes a youthful fun vibe with a lot of happy colors splashed strategically allover the shop. I drooled over the books on the walls. This place is heaven for bookworms like me. In order to borrow, you need to sign up for membership. And good news because members are entitled to a 10% discount on their coffees and beverages.

It was so funny that we finally met after months of rescheduling. We were all so busy with our lives, our careers after some of us graduated from our residency program. But we persevered in meeting up, even for just an hour or two. It was time well-spent. Because I believe that friendships should be kept and nurtured. When we don't try to reach out to them, the bond you used to have will eventually vanish making you strangers the next time yo meet up. I am proud to say I still and always in contact with my best friend since I am in Gade 1. We have been friends for almost 2 decades and we still are pretty tight even until now that our lives had a lot of changes and our experiences have multiplied. In life, material things may come in go but memories remain. And though I might have forgotten already the taste of the coffee or what I ordered when we met up, the happy feeling that I have, being with my friends will always stay. I envy that with Carrie Bradshaw in Sex & the City that she was able to create a circle of friends as her adopted family. I wish in my younger years I did nurtured my other friendships and forge into a neat group of people that supports & helps & be with each other through good and bad. Friendships are sacred. Though some would discourage us not to give your full trust in friendship because people would say friends can be fickle. Or you can be warned that "best friends can be your best enemy" and asking advice from them (especialy they might not give the best advice considering their experiences would only parallel your own) would only lead you to more trouble. That might be true but though we wouldn't necessary follow all or any of their advices, they have pretty much the best darn shoulder to cry on and they wouldn't even complain that you got their best t-shirt drenched with your tears. Or some would say that obtaining friendship in the real world are more of gauging what you can get from that friend of yours. So better make friends with people in the upper bracket of society or those in higher positions? Believe me, if you live with that premise, it will bit you in the head eventually. People could feel your intentions. So your insincerity and selfishness is never the way to go. We must have a little hope that there are friends out there who are true and sincere. Some that is for keeps. Some friends that makes you realize that the important things in life are relationships and not material things. Some friends that adds to your happy moments in life. Carrie Bradshaw once said to her friends, "Maybe our girlfriends are our soulmates and guys are just people to have fun with.” Hmmmm....... I can't totally agree since I'm not too bitter in love to say that. Hahaha! I say the special people in our lives are all our soulmates that in one way or another, our souls have bonded into something beautiful...
