POST-EASTER REFLECTIONS

Monday, April 9, 2012

Easter is my second favorite holiday next to New Year. Because like New Year, it also represents rebirth, new life and hope. When we stumbled a bit in our commitment to our New Year's resolution (which we are all guilty of), Easter is a perfect chance to renew that commitment or better yet revise it and make it even better. Easter makes me think of sunflower, green meadows, pink bunnies, a sunny day and everything nice....

For Easter, I have several suggestions in how to spend it:

- Go to mass with your family, have your cars & religious materials blessed by the priest after mass and go to your favorite restaurant.

- If you have kids around 2 years to around 9 years old (or older if they are up for it), buy plastic hollow eggs (you can find it in toy stores like Toy Kingdom) then place inside the egg either, chocolates, candies or if you want money, hehe. Hide it in nooks and corners of your house and have your own easter egg hunt with the family.

- Indulge your family's creativity by boiling eggs then after it cool down and you can paint the eggs in various colors with watercolors. It is a fun bonding activity with your family.

- Go to the beach and grill some mean steak (after abstaining meat for days), and juicy fishes.

- If you ditch your friends' invite to head to the nearest resort on a Holy week and rather have a staycation ( meaning according to urbandictionary: a vacation that is spent at one's home enjoying all that home and one's home environment have to offer), use this time for a relaxing spa treat like a body massage then head to a coffee shop and reflect on God's gift of unconditional love of dying for us, giving us new life and hope. And this is a perfect time for you to make new resolutions or recommit to your old ones.

Here are some of my Easter Reflections:

  •  Offer everything you do for God

  • Remember our purpose here on earth is to praise & glorify God and reunite with Him in heaven. TO GOD BE THE GLORY!

  • Take one day at a time. Life is not a race.

  • Always make time for God.

  • Enjoy every minute of everyday. Practice the art of self-awareness.

  • Have a grateful heart. Make a gratefulness list at the end of the day.

  • Show kindness to everyone. Remember the Golden Rule.

I hope you all enjoyed your Easter Sunday.. Belated Happy Easter!
