RUBBING IT AT RUBS

Saturday, December 10, 2011

Good  new! Rubs Ribs & BBQ is now in Pasig! It joined other hole-in-the-wall restos like Charlies, Moonleaf and Milky & Sunny. My sis and I learned about Rubs through Miss Patty Laurel’s blog. In one of my visits in Manila last October, we headed to the Rubs in Tomas Morato and tasted their mouth-watering back-ribs. Alleluiah! It was delish! Unfortunately due to my memory card incident, all my pics were lost and I wasn’t able to blog about it.  Last Thursday I flew to Manila for some transactions, my sis & her friend Marianne met up with me on the day of my arrival and we decided where to eat. My sis told me of this new discovery so it was decided -- Rubs, it is!

I love the interior of the place. It is a lot bigger than the one in Tomas Morato. It was filled with some a positive vibe, you see a lot of positivity quotes on the wall. Like! Even in the bathroom, hehe….

I found this in the bathroom… Cute nuh! Hehe….
So here are my partners in crime in this rub-ba-dub-dub food binge….

My sis and Mar

We were all very hungry: me- travelling first flight from Iloilo & coming from a 24 hour duty with no sleep and both of them from working night shift. Choosing from their menu, we ordered of course back ribs, 1 nibble, 3 side dishes and their house blend ice tea.

Pepperoni melt
My sis love this. This is a deconstructed pizza. You put in the bread, the pepperoni, cheese, and other veggies. It is a bit spicy, really yummy, and a fun eating experience.

We ordered the Family Brunch (P650). It is good for 4. I know, I know we are just three but knowing our eating capacity, we could eat for 4, no kidding, haha. It consist of a whole slab of baby back ribs with 3 side dishes. There are different of side dishes to choose from. We picked the coleslaw, roasted garlic mashed potato and sprice (spiced fried rice). The ribs were soooo good! I even let out an appreciative moan unconsciously.

For our drinks, we ordered a pitcher of their houseblend iced tea. No Lipton or Nestea ice tea here. Their iced tea was perfect. The best I ever tasted, promise. You can tell that it is from fresh tea leaves. I want to have a bottomless of Rubs Houseblend Iced Tea at home, haha…. It taste like summer….

After our very satisfying meal and a little bit of a Buddha-belly, we headed home to my sis’ place but not before taking this photo op in front of the Rubs.

Yes! That is my trusty red trolley luggage & laptop bag, hehe

My boyfie and I would love to have a vespa someday and also my dream car (just make it color green) is behind me too….. See you soon Rubs, Vespa & Bettle…. Mwaaah!
