It was a perfect Wednesday afternoon. As our little way of celebrating that, at last, Typhoon Pedring left the country and also satisfying our cravings for some Chinese, hehe, me and my friends decided to spend it by first attended a Novena Mass at St. Clement's Church then heading to Mandarin Tea Garden at SM City.
I always loooove Chinese foods! My childhood days is filled with sweet memories of celebrations at Chinese restaurants. I am also happy that my boyfie loves Chinese foodies like me, as well as my friends... Birds of the same feather flock together, di ba, hehe. The whole day, me and my friends were already dreaming of all the yummy, greasy foods we will eat. Hahaha!
Mandarin Tea Garden may seem to have a small space in the outside but when you come in, you'll be surprise to see how spacious it is inside. The kitchen is visible to the customers with its transparent walls. The prices is friendly enough for the wallet. They also offer rice topping meals like most Chinese restos.
These are what we ordered:
|
BEEF STEAK |
This is not your usual beef steak. It is not colored brown and didn't have the usual saltiness of beef steak. This dish is (obviously) red. The sauce seem mainly consist of either a ketchup or tomato paste which attributed to the uber-sweetness of this dish. I could also taste a bit of a sweet beverage either a softdrink or wine mixed into the sauce.

HAKAO (SHRIMP DUMPLINGS) |
I love this! This is reminiscent of the Binondo Hakao. Yum! I love dumplings. I love shrimps. The wrapper is moist and soft and the shrimps inside are abundant inside. It is perfect with soysauce, kalamansi and Mandarin Tea Garden's chili sauce.

MANDARIN TEA GARDEN CHILI SAUCE |
I
like their chili sauce. They also sell a bottle of this for customers. I put this in my beef steak too... It adds a bit of zing to your dishes. Plus, I am very partial with sauces, hehe...
|
CHICKEN FEET |
This is Mel's personal favorite. She loves chicken feet, hehe. This is my first time to eat chicken feet. I thought first it would gross me out but it tasted quite nice actually. It was soft and chewy. You just have to spit out its little bones, though. But the sauce is like the usual sweet and sour which I like.
|
PANCIT CANTON |
This noodles reminds me of the birthday noodles we always order in the now-defunct Chinese restaurant, Lee Garden. They didn't scrimp on the ingredients. Also, it was a lot for three little girls so we have some left-overs. It is a bit on the greasy side though.

Vane behind the camera |
We are now complete. Ready to eat!
