TIME FOR A LITTLE PAMPERING at THE SPA ELEMENTS

Stephen Covey, the best selling author taught us a lot in his book, 7 HABITS OF HIGHLY EFFECTIVE PEOPLE. We always remember the the Habits, "Be Proactive"and "Win-Win" but we always forget the 7th which is as important as the rest of the habits. It is "Sharpening the Saw"--the principle of balanced self-renewal in a form of exercise, meditation or any activity that would allow you to feel relax and rejuvenated. One of my preferred "sharpening of the saw" is a spa treat-- body massage.

Several weeks ago, my boyfriend's boss mentioned a new spa in town to my boyfriend and she encourage him to bring me there. What a coincidence, at the same day when my boyfriend mentioned it to me, a schoolmate of mine in college sent me a message about her & his husband's  new business venture -- The Spa Elements. It was the same one my boyfriend was talking about! I promised I will definitely visit.

So one Saturday, when my body was already screaming for a little pampering, I drag my boyfriend to tag along.

Upon entering the spa, we were greeted by the lovely Ms. Quennie and an assistant. Unfortunately my schoolmate, Moonshell wasn't there.

The Spa Elements is a perfect image of an urban spa- white walls, clean lines, minimalist chic, which I really dig. They have a wide array of  services for you to fit your needs.

They also sell body butter (P200), lotion (P150) and handsanitizer (60) in Grapefruit, Relaxing Lavender and Green Tea. They also sell Bath & Body Works products like cologne and handsanitizers.

Me and my boyfriend both wanted a body massage. The Spa offered 4 choices for our body oil: Relaxing Lavender, Cucumber Melon, Energizing Peppermint and Refreshing Eucalyptus.   We  choose the cucumber melon. It smells nice, hehe.

Since the place was a bit packed when we arrived, we waited for a bit. Look what they offered us while waiting. Did I also tell the place has WIFI. Cool isn't it?

Black for him, Pink for me
He is busy with some angry birds
Pinky gadget and some Instyle mag for me
After a few minutes, it was our turn. The place inside was so perfectly set up. Sorry guys, no pics to show you. I didn't want to disturb or annoy other customers with the flash. The masseuses gave us a combination of Swedish and Shiatsu massage. Swedish massage consist of long smooth strokes using a lot of massage oil while Shiatsu massage, a Japanese massage consist of deep localized pressure in certain points of your body. We felt relaxed in an instant. No noisy chats, just a soft instrumental music in the background.

After our massage, they offered us some sweet tea with a hint of ginger. My boyfriend loved it, hehe.

We went home fresh, rejuvenated and citrus-y, hehe....
