SOLVING THE PEOPLE PUZZLE

Monday, May 30, 2011

I love psychology and behavior analysis. Before I started training for Family Medicine, my 1st choice of specialization was Psychiatry because it was deals a lot of the complexities of people and I totally dig that.

In our annual behavioral activity/team-building of our department, we usually have some activities that would help us get to know our co-residents as as well as having a better awareness of ourselves. This year was quite interesting because we got to meet the charismatic Pastor John Digno courtesy of our co-resident Dr. Ela Jose. He gave us an eye-opening talk that allows us to know ourselves better and learn how to get along better with other people. Talk was entitled "SOLVING THE PEOPLE PUZZLE".

You see there are actually 4 types of personalities: the D, the I, the S and the C. We were given 24 items in which in every item there are 4 words, then we choose the best word to describe ourselves. Each word correspond to a particular personality type. There you go... 4 personalities type roaming everywhere, trying to understand themselves and learning how to adjust to one another. It was such a revelation after the activity. We learned why we acted that way and why that certain person acts that way. And we too learned the best way how  to deal with each other and the  different tension areas that may occur. A certain personality is not more superior than the other. It is plainly knowing themselves well and using that knowledge to enhance the person's strength.

What is my personality type?  I am a C......

So being true to my nature, I will list down 10 reasons why I am truly a C:
1. I love analyzing.... I am the analyzing queen... I have more than 50 analyses and realizations every day

2. I start my day by checking my things to do today and ending it by ticking off what I have accomplished for today

3. I feel orgasmically giddy and happy when I tick off a task I have accomplished.

4. I love logic. It's one of my favorite subject in college, (Nerrrd!)

5. You can't drag me somewhere unless you have told me ahead of time.
.
6. I am too sensitive. I would cry for something that is totally... nothing at all.

7. I am such a slowpoke. Translation? I am a slowpoke in life, a late-bloomer. It was better for me that way than going through the fast-motion pace of my peers. I voted at the age of 29, had my first boyfriend at the age of 24, learned how to drive at the age of 30, and etc etc.

8. Every end of the month, I make a bullet list of things that I am grateful for that month and another list of my goals for the next month. (Double Nerrrd!)

9. Aside from being a slowpoke turtle in life, I am also such a slow-learner. You need to have lots of patience to explain to me a new thing, a new task I have never done, or  a new concept because it would take a lot of repetition for me to get it.

10. I like to give my all in things that I do. Then, I crossed my fingers hoping it will turn out ok.

What do you think is your personality type?
